Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse Operator: Bulk plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe handling of all inbound stock. This includes offloading incoming products, accurately recording their details, organizing storage, and replenishing pick lines to maintain seamless warehouse operations. Through effective stock rotation and strict compliance with safety standards, the role contributes directly to inventory accuracy, freshness, and overall operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As a Warehouse Operator: Bulk, your duties will include:

  • Inbound Stock Handling

    • Offload all products from inbound delivery vehicles efficiently and safely.

    • Inspect received products for quality, packaging integrity, and accurate labeling.

    • Record product age, storage dates, and ensure compliance with company standards.

    • Generate product labels and correctly attach them to incoming pallets.

  • Storage & Inventory Management

    • Organize and store products in designated storage areas for easy accessibility.

    • Replenish pick lines promptly to support uninterrupted order fulfillment.

    • Implement FIFO (First-In, First-Out) stock rotation to minimize product waste and maintain freshness.

    • Monitor inventory levels, report discrepancies, and support accurate stock control.

  • Safety & Equipment Care

    • Inspect and operate warehouse equipment, including electric pallet jacks and forklifts, safely and responsibly.

    • Report equipment faults or malfunctions to supervisors immediately.

    • Comply with all health and safety regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

    • Maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment and proactively contribute to a culture of safety.

  • Collaboration & Communication

    • Report any quality or packaging issues, such as damaged goods or incorrect labeling, to the Controller.

    • Work closely with team members to achieve shared operational goals.

    • Support stock-taking processes and assist during internal audits when required.

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum Education: Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification.

  • Experience: 1 – 3 years in a similar warehouse or logistics role, preferably within the FMCG sector.

  • Licenses:

    • Valid Electric Pallet Jack License.

    • Valid Forklift License.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and warehouse management processes.
