About the Role

As part of the learnership, you will gain valuable exposure to the Fitting and Turning discipline, where you’ll learn how to manufacture, assemble, maintain, and repair mechanical components used in machinery and equipment. You will work closely with senior artisans and mentors, developing competencies through a structured blend of classroom-based training and on-the-job learning.

The program focuses on equipping learners with technical aptitude, problem-solving capabilities, and practical experience to prepare them for future roles within the engineering field.

Key Responsibilities

During this learnership, you will be required to:

  • Participate actively in both theoretical training and practical workshops to develop core engineering skills.

  • Gain hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, equipment, and components.

  • Assist senior artisans and engineering teams in day-to-day workshop tasks, ensuring smooth operations.

  • Apply engineering principles to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges under supervision.

  • Demonstrate strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards at all times.

  • Maintain good housekeeping practices to ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

  • Deliver excellent service to internal stakeholders by completing tasks accurately and on time.

  • Be proactive and eager to learn while embracing mentorship and coaching opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science as compulsory subjects.

  • N3 Certificate with the following essential subjects:

    • Fitting & Turning Trade Theory

    • Mathematics

    • Engineering Science

    • Engineering Drawings

  • Willingness to work overtime when required and assist in additional operational tasks.

  • Basic computer literacy to handle technical documentation and reporting.

  • A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
