About the Role

The position of Senior Legal Administration Officer is tailored for experienced legal practitioners with a passion for public service and governance. Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • A completed LLB Degree or equivalent B Degree in Law.

  • At least 8 years’ post-graduate experience in a relevant legal environment.

  • Demonstrated computer literacy (MS Office proficiency).

  • A valid driver’s license to facilitate travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will manage a wide range of legal, contractual, and compliance duties, including:

  • Contract Management: Drafting, vetting, and reviewing contracts while ensuring compliance with SASSA’s internal policies and procedures.

  • Policy Implementation: Supporting the development and enforcement of contract and compliance frameworks.

  • Litigation Oversight: Managing litigation processes, liaising with attorneys, and ensuring effective representation of SASSA.

  • Legal Advisory Services: Providing expert legal opinions (both written and oral) to management and stakeholders.

  • Legislative Guidance: Interpreting relevant laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance.

  • Debt Recovery: Handling debt collection and related financial legal matters.

  • Labour Relations Support: Assisting with labour disputes and advising on internal disciplinary processes.

  • Capacity Building: Conducting legislation and compliance training for internal stakeholders where required.
